I first came to Japan in 1997 and have lived in Kyoto since 2003. I currently live in Uji CIty, Kyoto in the heart of the Uji Fujiwara graves (a series of protected grave sites of the influential Fujiwara family dated back over 1,000 years).
For the past 15 years I have contributed a monthly column and a number of historical articles to the magazine Kansai Scene. I have also written articles for the online English language tourist site Taiken Japan about places to visit in Japan.
Last year I published two books about Kyoto, HIDDEN PATHS - Walking Historical Kyoto Volumes 1 & 2.Walking tours off the beaten track in Kyoto.
